September 2025 : JSW JFE Electrical Steel Nashik Private Limited, a key manufacturer of Cold Rolled Grain-Oriented Electrical Steel (CRGO), has awarded a major contract to John Cockerill India Limited. The contract is for the engineering, design, and supply of advanced high-temperature tunnel furnaces for its Nashik facility.
This agreement is a critical component of JSW JFE’s strategic expansion, which aims to quintuple CRGO production capacity from 50,000 TPA to 250,000 TPA. The new tunnel furnaces will play an essential role in refining the steel’s magnetic properties, which are crucial for high-efficiency power transformers and other vital components of power transmission systems.
The scope of the contract includes the supply of all furnace components and advanced coil handling systems, with John Cockerill India also providing supervision for the erection and commissioning of the equipment. The project is targeted for completion in the first quarter of 2027.
