November 2025 : In a significant transition marking a new chapter in his purpose-driven career, former Hella India and Tata Green Batteries MD, Rama Shankar Pandey, has taken the helm as the Chief Executive Officer of the Work With Dignity (WWD) Foundation, effective November 1, 2025.
WWD is a mission-led enterprise committed to scaling a nationwide "dignity at work" mission, aiming to make India a nation where every person can work with respect, safety, and purpose.
Pandey brings over 28 years of entrepreneurial and turnaround leadership experience to his new impact-oriented role. He previously served the Government of India as a Social Defence Fellow with the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment (MoSJE), advancing initiatives in social protection and dignity. His mandate at WWD is to scale partnerships across society, government, and business, deepen program impact, and expand the Foundation’s reach to underserved working communities.
The transition follows a decorated corporate career, including steering Tata Green Batteries under the "Naye India Ki Nayi Battery" banner, and leading Hella India Lighting to be recognized as one of India's Top 25 Great Places to Work. An alumnus of IIM Bangalore, ISB Hyderabad, and NIT Calicut, his accolades include the Asia Pacific Entrepreneurship Award.
Pandey’s commitment to social impact is woven into his current professional matrix. His role at WWD is combined with his Co-founder role at Autoverse Mobility (empowering multi-brand aftermarket workshops) and his new position as Executive Director on the board of Paracoat Products Ltd. Furthermore, he will continue his voluntary contribution to the #BeggaryFreeIndia and #NashaMuktaBharatAbhiyaan under MoSJE.
