March 2026 : The industrial sector thrives on leaders who aren't afraid to get their hands dirty before they lead. In a strategic move for India’s metals landscape, Runaya Eckart JV has recently appointed Koushik Roy as its Chief Operating Officer.

Currently serving as the COO at Runaya Eckart Aluminium Powders Pvt. Ltd., Roy is at the forefront of a major national milestone: commissioning and operating India’s first facility for Gas-Atomized Aluminium Powders. This isn't just about manufacturing; it’s about pioneering a new vertical in the domestic supply chain that will serve high-stakes industries like aerospace and defense.

Before joining Runaya, he served as an Extrusion Ingot Process & Recycling Engineer at Qatalum in Doha, Qatar, where he set global benchmarks for scrap reduction and sustainability. However, the bulk of his professional DNA was formed during a nearly 14-year tenure at Vedanta Limited, where he rose from a Graduate Engineer Trainee to managing production planning for cast houses with a staggering capacity of 1.8 million tons per annum.

His academic foundation is just as robust. A B.Tech in Electrical & Electronics from SRM IST Chennai provided the technical spark, while a Master’s in Manufacturing Management from BITS Pilani sharpened his strategic edge.
