April 2026 : Recently the gap between academic training and next-gen industrial reality just became significantly smaller in Biadai. In a landmark move for India's automotive landscape, Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Wipro 3D to establish a dedicated Centre of Excellence (CoE) for Additive Manufacturing at the Toyota Technical Training Institute (TTTI). This isn't just about installing high-tech hardware; it’s about reimagining how the next generation of Indian technicians thinks, designs, and builds in a three-dimensional world.
By bringing Wipro 3D’s industrial expertise directly to the students, this collaboration bridges the gap between traditional vocational training and the rapid-fire demands of a modern shop floor. The CoE will serve as a hub for rapid prototyping, lightweight component optimization, and on-demand manufacturing, effectively putting the tools of Industry 4.0 into the hands of young trainees. The initiative ensures that students don't just observe the future of manufacturing - they actively participate in it through internships, apprenticeships, and live industry projects.
The human element remains at the core of this technical leap. Mr. G. Shankara, Chief Strategy Officer, TKM, captured this sentiment perfectly: "Our Human Resource Development philosophy at TKM follows core principles of Toyota such as, Continue the Quest for Improvement, Show Respect for People, under which we thrive hard to develop individuals in the Latest Technology of the New Age Era of automotive field."
