August 2025 : Wipro Limited, a leading AI-powered technology services and consulting company, has recently announced a definitive agreement to acquire the Digital Transformation Solutions (DTS) business unit of HARMAN, a Samsung company. The acquisition is a pivotal move aimed at accelerating Wipro’s mission to deliver next-generation engineering research and development (ER&D) services.

The transaction, which is subject to regulatory approvals and expected to close by December 31, 2025, will see more than 5,600 DTS employees across the Americas, Europe, and Asia transition to Wipro. This will expand Wipro’s ER&D service offerings and capabilities, enhancing its expertise in AI-powered digital engineering and device engineering, from design to manufacturing, across high-growth sectors including technology, industrial, aerospace, healthcare, and consumer industries.

Srini Pallia, CEO and Managing Director, Wipro Limited, stated, “Their specialized engineering expertise, combined with Wipro’s consulting-led, AI-powered capabilities, will significantly enhance the value we deliver to clients.” He added that the acquisition strengthens Wipro's position as a trusted transformation partner and will accelerate digital innovation and reduce time-to-market for clients.

The DTS unit brings a robust foundation in digital engineering and ER&D, with a unique integration of deep engineering with AI-native platforms and domain expertise. By combining DTS’s high-touch service model with Wipro’s global scale, clients will gain access to the agility of a specialist provider and the capabilities of a global leader.

Christian Sobottka, CEO, HARMAN, commented, "This agreement unlocks the next chapter for the DTS business unit, one where it can scale faster, reach more clients in key industries, and fully realize its growth potential."

Upon completion of the acquisition, the DTS unit will be integrated into Wipro’s Engineering Global Business Line. The deal also includes a multi-year strategic agreement with HARMAN and Samsung, creating new avenues for future joint growth.
