Oct 2026 : Alkem Laboratories Ltd. has recently announced the appointment of Laxmikant Tiwari as President & Head - Formulation Manufacturing Operations, Projects, Contract Manufacturing & Sustainability. With over 27 years of deep domain expertise in pharmaceutical operations and plant management, Tiwari takes charge of driving manufacturing excellence, cost competitiveness, capacity expansion, and ESG commitments under Alkem’s overarching vision of "Inspiring Healthier Lives."
Throughout his distinguished career, Tiwari has built high-performing operational teams and spearheaded large-scale injectable and oral solid dosage (OSD) facilities. In his new role at Alkem, he will lead formulation manufacturing sites, strategic projects, contract manufacturing, and Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) initiatives while mentoring the next generation of operational leaders.
Before joining Alkem Laboratories, Tiwari served as Senior Vice President at Biological E. Limited and Vice President - Operations at Zydus Group. His career also includes key leadership roles as Site Head (Chief Manufacturing) at Liva Pharmaceuticals Ltd. (Zydus Cadila), Senior General Manager - Cluster Head (Injectable) at Zydus Cadila, and Director - Head Operations at Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories, where he spent over nine years. He honed his core production experience through earlier roles at Dabur Pharma, Cipla, and Lupin Limited.
Tiwari earned an MBA in Operations Management from Sikkim Manipal University, an Executive MBA from the School of Inspired Leadership (SOIL), and completed a 1-year Leadership Development Program at the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIM Ahmedabad).
