July 2026 : CG SEMI Private Limited has officially commenced commercial production at its G1 Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Test (OSAT) facility in Sanand, Gujarat.
The high-profile inauguration brought together the country's top political leadership and industrial pioneers, highlighting the critical economic weight of the milestone.
The factory floor welcomed Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Gujarat Shri Bhupendra Patel, and Hon’ble Union Minister Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw (Minister for Railways, Information & Broadcasting, and Electronics & Information Technology). Their presence alongside global partners signaled a unified front in transforming India into a self-reliant hardware hub.
The facility focuses on advanced semiconductor packaging and testing - a crucial link in the global electronics supply chain. By assembling raw wafers into finished, market-ready microchips, the plant directly addresses the global demand for electronics while insulating local tech industries from international supply disruptions.
The Sanand facility is expected to serve as a catalyst for a broader ecosystem, attracting ancillary component manufacturers, logistics giants, and engineering talent to Gujarat. With the backing of the central government's aggressive incentive policies and critical infrastructure, CG Semi's commercial rollout marks a shift from experimental planning to real-world market execution.
As the first chips roll off the line, the partnership between local capital, global engineering, and political will cements Gujarat’s status as the rising "Silicon Valley" of South Asia.
