Collins Aerospace Appoints Suresh Padmanabhan as Head - Collins GETC Engineering & Performance Excellence
March 2026 : In the fast-evolving landscape of aerospace, where precision meets digital disruption, leadership requires a rare blend of "boots-on-the-ground" experience and forward-thinking technical mastery. Collins Aerospace has found that synergy in Suresh Padmanabhan, who recently announced his transition into a pivotal new role within the organization.
Suresh is stepping up to head the Collins GETC Engineering & Performance Excellence team for Digital Engineering, Methods, Process & Adoption. The move marks a significant internal shift, placing a veteran strategist at the helm of the company’s digital future. In this capacity, Suresh will oversee the integration of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and AI-driven automation, ensuring that Collins remains at the cutting edge of aerospace efficiency and innovation.
Suresh’s trajectory is defined by a remarkable 28-year journey across the military and corporate sectors. Before becoming a cornerstone of the Collins Aerospace team over seven years ago - where he held key leadership roles in Data Analytics and Applied Research - he served as a Group Captain (Retd.) in the Indian Air Force (IAF). For nearly 24 years, he managed complex avionics system integrations and aircraft maintenance, grounding his digital expertise in real-world operational reality.
His academic pedigree is equally formidable. A PhD in Computer Science from Visvesvaraya Technological University, Suresh also holds an MTech from IIT Delhi, an MSc in Defence Strategic Management from the University of Madras, and a BE from the College of Engineering, Guindy.
