January 2026 : Hero MotoCorp Limited, the world’s largest manufacturer of motorcycles and scooters, has officially appointed Harshavardhan Chitale as its new Chief Executive Officer. The appointment comes at a transformative time for the automotive giant as it intensifies its focus on electric mobility through its emerging brand, Vida. Chitale, a leader with over three decades of global experience, is recognized for his ability to drive large-scale transformations.

Harshavardhan Chitale’s professional trajectory is marked by high-stakes leadership across diverse industries. He joined Hero MotoCorp after an 11-year tenure at Signify (formerly Philips Lighting), where he served as the global CEO of the Professional Business and was a Member of the Board of Management in Amsterdam. Prior to his global roles, he was the Vice Chairman and MD of Philips Lighting India.

His extensive P&L experience also includes serving as the MD & CEO of HCL Infosystems Ltd and a decade-long journey at Honeywell, where he held various executive roles including CEO of Honeywell Automation India and VP for the Americas region. He began his career as a TAS (Tata Administrative Services) officer, working within the Tata Group. Chitale is an alumnus of the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Delhi, where he earned his B.Tech in Electrical Engineering.

As he takes the helm at the New Delhi headquarters, the industry anticipates a bold new era for Hero MotoCorp and its Vida electric platform.
