July 2025 : The Coca-Cola Company recently announced the appointment of Hemant Rupani as the new Chief Executive Officer of Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages Pvt. Ltd. (HCCB), effective September 8, 2025. Mr. Rupani, a seasoned business leader with extensive experience across various companies and industries, will succeed current HCCB CEO Juan Pablo Rodriguez, who is transitioning to a new opportunity within the Coca-Cola system.
Mr. Rupani will report to the HCCB board of directors. He is recognized as a highly accomplished business leader with a strong track record of delivering impressive results and driving commercial success. His diverse experience spans both Indian and multinational organizations, making him a strategic fit to lead HCCB’s significant investments and growth in India.
Mr. Rupani joins HCCB after a nine-year career with Mondelēz International Inc., where he most recently served as Business Unit President for Southeast Asia, overseeing operations in Indonesia, the Philippines, Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand. He joined Mondelēz in 2016 as Director of Sales for India, later becoming Vice President and Managing Director for Vietnam before his promotion to his current role in 2022.
His extensive career began in 1997 with ICI India Limited. He then moved to PepsiCo India in 1999, followed by a stint at Infosys Technologies in 2002. He rejoined PepsiCo in 2004, spending six years in roles of increasing responsibility, culminating as Senior Vice President, Customer Marketing, India Beverages. In 2010, Mr. Rupani joined Vodafone, and in 2014, he moved to Britannia Industries as Vice President, Sales and Business Head, Breads.
Mr. Rupani holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Regional Engineering College in Jaipur, India, and an MBA in marketing from the Faculty of Management Studies, University of Delhi.
