November 2025 : In a move set to significantly impact India's core industrial sector, Mr. Vijay Sharma, Director at Jindal Stainless, has been appointed as the Chair of the Minerals & Metals Committee at the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI) for the Presidential Year 2025–26.

This prestigious appointment is a testament to Mr. Sharma’s extensive experience spanning over four decades in corporate affairs, marketing, and business development across India's industrial landscape. He has been a pivotal figure at Jindal Stainless for over 25 years and also holds key directorial roles at Shalimar Paints and the Indian Iron and Steel Sector Skill Council, bringing a wealth of sector-specific knowledge to his new role.

The Minerals & Metals Committee at PHDCCI is renowned for its pivotal role in shaping India’s industrial ecosystem through policy advocacy, sector leadership, and thought leadership. His mandate will focus on driving policy discussions, fostering innovation, and ensuring the minerals and metals sector maintains its trajectory towards global competitiveness and sustainability.

Mr. Sharma holds an MBA from the Faculty of Management Studies - University of Delhi and an engineering degree from Punjab Engineering College. Before his long tenure at Jindal Stainless, he spent 16 years at Escorts Limited, managing domestic and international sales for two-wheeler automobiles. His deep-rooted expertise is expected to provide invaluable direction to the committee's strategic policy-making.
