April 2026 : JK Tyre & Industries Ltd. has recently announced the appointment of Dr. Mandar Deo as its new President (India), bringing a powerhouse of technical expertise and empathetic leadership to the storied conglomerate. Dr. Deo, whose career is defined by a rare blend of Vedic philosophy and high-end engineering, will oversee the India operations across the group’s diverse interests, including JK Paper, JK Lakshmi Cement, and JK Fenner.

Dr. Deo’s professional foundation was built over an 18-year tenure at Cummins Inc., moving from technical roles in the US to executive leadership in India. Most recently, he served as CEO and MD at Exide Energy Solutions Ltd., where he spearheaded the launch of India’s advanced lithium-ion cell manufacturing. He began his career in Pune’s engineering sector before transitioning to global roles.

He holds a PhD and MS from Penn State University, an MBA from Indiana University (Kelley School of Business), and a BE from Savitribai Phule Pune University.
