“The new Kushaq is an evolution and continues to be a key pillar in our mission to bring European engineering excellence within reach of Indian families.” - Piyush Arora, Managing Director & CEO - SAVWIPL

March 2026 : In a move that signals a massive "product offensive" for 2026, Škoda Auto Volkswagen India Private Limited (SAVWIPL) officially rolled the first of the new Škoda Kushaq models off the assembly line at its world-class Chakan plant on February 23. This milestone comes just weeks after the SUV’s world premiere in January, with customer deliveries slated to begin this March.

The new Kushaq isn't just a facelift; it’s a high-tech evolution of the vehicle that pioneered the INDIA 2.0 strategy. Built with "European engineering excellence," the SUV now features a segment-first rear-seat massage function, a panoramic sunroof, and a highly anticipated 8-speed torque converter automatic transmission, raising the benchmark for the mid-size SUV segment.

The Chakan facility remains a critical pillar for the Group’s "Make in India, for India and the world" vision. Andreas Dick, Škoda Auto a.s. Board Member, emphasized that the Kushaq was the first car developed specifically for a market outside Europe.

“The start of production of the new Kushaq in Pune in such a short span of time highlights how strongly India is integrated into our global manufacturing ecosystem,” said Andreas Dick. “Kushaq’s continued success underlines how India is not only a key growth market but also an increasingly important production and export base for our global operations.”

For SAVWIPL, which saw record-breaking sales of 117,000 units in 2025, the new Kushaq is vital for maintaining momentum.

“The new Kushaq is an evolution and continues to be a key pillar in our mission to bring European engineering excellence within reach of Indian families,” noted Piyush Arora, Managing Director & CEO of SAVWIPL. “Listening closely to our customers, we have added several premium features making it an even more compelling offering.”

Ashish Gupta, Brand Director, Škoda Auto India, added: “This is the start of our product offensive for this year, as we expand our product range in line with evolving customer demands.”
