July 2026 : To accelerate India's infrastructure development, construction equipment giant SCHWING Stetter India has officially inaugurated its brand-new manufacturing facility in Jamshedpur. The plant marks a bold geographical expansion for the company, moving beyond its traditional stronghold in South India to directly serve the booming markets of the North and East, as well as international export destinations.
The facility was inaugurated by Mr. Girish Wagh, Managing Director & CEO of Tata Motors Limited, alongside Mr. V. G. Sakthikumar, Chairman and Managing Director of SCHWING Stetter India. Spanning 9,600 square metres, the plant is entirely dedicated to producing truck-mounted concrete mixers. It features advanced zones for assembly, vehicle integration, quality testing, and dispatch. Initial production kicks off at 200 mixers per month, with plans to double capacity to 400 in the next phase. Beyond machinery, the plant is a win for the local economy, projected to create 200 direct and 50 indirect jobs in Jharkhand.
Strategically located next to Tata Motors, the facility minimizes logistics lag, speeds up delivery times, and seamlessly integrates SCHWING Stetter's mixing technology with Tata’s robust vehicle chassis.
“The inauguration of SCHWING Stetter India’s new facility in Jamshedpur is an important step in strengthening the manufacturing and integration ecosystem for concrete mixer applications. With Tata Motors’ mobility platform strength and SCHWING Stetter’s concrete equipment expertise, this facility will help serve the growing needs of customers in India and export markets with better speed, reliability and coordination.” said Mr. Girish Wagh.
Echoing this excitement, Mr. V. G. Sakthikumar added: “Starting our new plant in Jamshedpur is a major step in strengthening our manufacturing and supply chain capability in India. Being closer to Tata Motors will improve logistics efficiency and create better coordination between our concrete mixer technology and vehicle platforms. This will help us increase production and deliver high-quality equipment on time to support India’s growing infrastructure development.” He further added: “After building a strong manufacturing base in South India over the last 28 years, our move to Jamshedpur reflects our commitment to be closer to customers in North and East India. This facility will also contribute to Jharkhand’s industrial ecosystem by supporting employment, vendor development and future manufacturing opportunities.”
