August 2026 : Tata Projects Limited, one of India's leading technology-led EPC companies, has recently appointed Sukumar Hebbar as its new Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately. Succeeding Vinayak Pai, who led the firm since 2022, Hebbar steps into the role to drive Tata Projects' next growth phase across urban infrastructure, data centres, and sustainable energy portfolios.
With India's infrastructure push demanding rapid digitalization and eco-friendly solutions, Hebbar’s appointment positions Tata Projects to strengthen its leadership bench and execute complex urban development projects nationwide.
Beginning his career as a Graduate Engineer Trainee, Hebbar brings over 35 years of deep construction leadership to his new position. He built a distinguished career at Larsen & Toubro (L&T), including key roles within its ECC Division. Most recently serving as Senior Vice President and IC Head of Transportation Infrastructure. Throughout his journey at L&T, he turned the Health Business unit into a highly profitable vertical, secured critical data centre orders, and successfully delivered landmark nation-building projects such as the Ram Mandir, Navi Mumbai International Airport, and Kartavya Bhawan.
Hebbar holds a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Malnad College of Engineering (Mysore University) and is an alumnus of INSEAD's Advanced Management Programme in Organisational Leadership.
