Pro MFG Media is proud to feature her in our premier digital initiative, Women Aces of Manufacturing. This series spotlights the visionary leaders redefining India’s industrial DNA. Dive into our exclusive interview with Sneha to discover how she is navigating complex supply chains and steering Bekaert toward a smarter, more resilient future.
What inspired you to pursue a career in manufacturing ?
Manufacturing inspires me because it’s where leadership becomes tangible. Connecting design to markets, it grounds you in the human energy of the shop floor. Mastering the 4Ms - Man, Machine, Material, Method - demands resilience and courage. As a woman leader, I’ve learned that true transformation occurs when technical competence meets heartfelt compassion.
For me, manufacturing is not just a career - it’s a philosophy of turning complexity into clarity, people into capability, and vision into action.
What is one leadership lesson manufacturing taught you ?
Clarity + Consistency + Care. In plants, results follow when the purpose is clear, standards are consistent, and people feel respected. That blend of operational discipline and human connection is how you move metrics and morale.
What keeps you committed to the manufacturing sector despite challenges ?
The opportunity to build capability and shape systems that last. Whether establishing global systems and frameworks or leading multilocation operational performance transformations, I have seen how the right combination of processes, people, and purpose can shift outcomes at scale. That impact keeps me anchored and energized.
What challenges have you overcome as a woman leader in Projects & Engineering, and what keeps you motivated ?
Navigating male-dominated engineering environments has taught me that true leadership is defined by competence and vision, not gender. Having led complex global CAPEX programs, I’ve built credibility through consistent results in high-pressure roles. I am driven by transforming organizations into sustainable, future-ready systems while fostering diverse, high-performing teams. Ultimately, I embrace my visibility to inspire the next generation of women, ensuring my journey paves a meaningful path for others to lead with confidence in engineering and operations.
How do you lead high-performance teams while managing large-scale projects in today’s fast-paced environment ?
Leading high-performance teams requires balancing strategic clarity, empowerment, and disciplined execution. I start with a purpose-driven vision, ensuring every member understands our "why" to boost engagement. By granting autonomy and fostering cross-functional alignment, I enable innovation across global engineering environments. I prioritize transparent communication and continuous learning, leading with empathy to build trust. This approach ensures teams don't just deliver projects - they adapt quickly and create lasting impact.
Which competencies are most critical for women to thrive in plant operationsy ?
Women succeed in operations when they combine technical command / system knowledge with executive presence. Critical competencies include: Process & Amp; Quality Discipline, Data-driven Decision Making, Financial Acumen, Strong Stakeholder Alignment, Influence Without Noise and Composure Under Pressure.
A moment in your career that made you most proud ?
Leading Five Mahle plants to industry-leading standards was a defining moment - witnessing people and structures grow alongside the metrics.
Equally transformative was implementing the Behr Production System, a complex technology transfer to India that fundamentally shaped my leadership DNA, proving that operational excellence is rooted in both precision and people.
What is one misconception about women in manufacturing you would like to break ?
That plant leadership is “too tough” for women. Manufacturing respects competence, consistency, and courage - not stereotypes. Performance is gender neutral.
What advice would you give young women entering manufacturing today and aspiring to build a career in engineering and leadership ?
To build a career in engineering and leadership, confidently claim your space and continuously invest in your technical capabilities. Success doesn’t require fitting a mold; it demands purpose, resilience, and the courage to raise the bar. Master the processes, analyze the data, and embrace complex challenges. Value your unique perspective - empathy and collaboration are powerful leadership assets. As you climb, build allies and uplift others. Your voice is essential, and no high-impact role is beyond your reach.
How do you see the impact of AI in the manufacturing industry ?
AI will fundamentally reshape how we run plants - predictive decisions, automated quality insights, intelligent supply chains, and faster cross-functional alignment. But technology alone won’t win; leaders who can integrate AI into culture and capability will define the next decade.
Any initiatives being run in your company to increase women’s participation in manufacturing ?
I’ve actively driven POSH, D&I, and capability-building initiatives to ensure safe, equitable environments. By mentoring young women entering plant roles, I turn representation into reality. It’s not just about occupying a space; it is about actively building the pipeline for the next generation to follow.
In one sentence: what does being a ‘Woman Ace of Manufacturing’ mean to you ?
Owning my space with purpose, elevating performance with conviction, and ensuring the path is
wider for every woman who follows.
