For the state's investment landscape, Mr. Deepak Jacob, IAS, has officially taken charge as the Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer of Guidance Tamil Nadu, the state's nodal agency for investment promotion and single-window facilitation

As a seasoned generalist administrator with deep interest in Public Policy and Development, Infrastructure development, Public health policy and Risk Management, Jacob steps into the role with a reputation for turning institutional goals into impactful ground realities. His appointment signals an aggressive push toward sustainable industrial growth, tech-driven investments, and job creation.

Before taking charge at Guidance, he served as the Director for the Commissionerate of Survey. His versatile leadership has benefited diverse state entities, including his tenure as Managing Director of Co Optex Handlooms, and key administrative stints as the District Collector for both Thanjavur and Krishnagiri. Jacob has also actively shaped public health frameworks during his time as Managing Director of the Tamil Nadu Medical Service Corporation Limited (TNMSC) and as Project Director for TANSACS. His earlier administrative foundation includes serving as the Joint Chief Electoral Officer for the Election Commission of India in Chennai, Managing Director of the Vellore Co-operative Sugar Mills, and Sub Divisional Magistrate in Tuticorin. His journey began as a Software Engineer at Huawei.

Jacob holds a Bachelor of Technology in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Mar Athanasius College of Engineering in Kothamangalam, Ernakulam.
