“Our decision to establish this facility in North Carolina reflects a long-term commitment to serving the U.S. market with locally manufactured nonwoven materials. We see this as an important step in bringing our material technologies and development capabilities closer to customers in the region while building a foundation for long-term growth.” - Amit Kavrie, Managing Director - Supreme Group

July 2026 : India-based Supreme Group is crossing the Atlantic to build its very first U.S. manufacturing hub. Operating through its subsidiary, Supreme Nonwoven Inc., the textile pioneer is injecting $25.8 million into a massive, 200,000-square-foot facility right here in Lexington, a move set to transform the local industrial landscape.

Stepping into North Carolina wasn't a random choice. The Tar Heel State boasts the nation’s heaviest concentration of nonwoven firms, making it the perfect ecosystem for Supreme’s ambitious vision. The new hub won't just focus on raw manufacturing; it is designed as an integrated base for application engineering and cutting-edge product development, serving the automotive and industrial sectors.

For the people of Davidson County, this investment brings a wave of economic promise. The facility is slated to create 50 new jobs with an average annual salary of $55,800—proudly outpacing the county average.

Welcoming the company, Governor Josh Stein shared his enthusiasm for the state's growing appeal: “I am proud to welcome Supreme Nonwoven and the good jobs it will bring to Davidson County. This announcement reinforces what the world already knows: Our state is a premier destination for textile innovation. Our history in this industry is enhanced by a skilled workforce that is ready to support global companies seeking to establish and expand their presence in the United States.”

For Supreme Group, this expansion is all about forging tighter bonds with their North American partners. “Our decision to establish this facility in North Carolina reflects a long-term commitment to serving the U.S. market with locally manufactured nonwoven materials,” explained Amit Kavrie, Managing Director of Supreme Group. “We see this as an important step in bringing our material technologies and development capabilities closer to customers in the region while building a foundation for long-term growth.”

Supported by a performance-based One North Carolina Fund grant, Supreme Group is stepping into the U.S. market with discipline, ready to grow steadily alongside local demand.
