March 2026 : In order to sharpen its technological edge before the new financial year, Maruti Suzuki India Limited has recently announced a significant management reshuffle. At the heart of this realignment is Dr. Tapan Sahoo, who will now take on additional charge of the Information Technology vertical, further solidifying the company's commitment to a "digital-first" future.

As the automotive industry pivots toward software-defined vehicles and hyper-efficient supply chains, Dr. Sahoo’s expanded role as Executive Officer of Digital Enterprise, Information & Cyber Security signals a push for deeper integration.

Dr. Sahoo is no stranger to transformation. With a career at Maruti Suzuki spanning over 34 years, he has evolved from a Graduate Engineer Trainee into a formidable leader. His career is a testament to lifelong learning. Since joining Maruti Suzuki in 1991, he has navigated diverse domains including EV development, JV formations, and large-scale SAP implementations. His academic foundation is equally prestigious; he holds a B.E. in Electrical Engineering from VSSUT, Burla, followed by an MBA and a Ph.D. in Strategic Technology Management from IIT Delhi.
