February 2026 : In a move signaling a bold transition toward becoming a full-stack renewable energy powerhouse, Suzlon Energy has recently appointed Ajay Kapur as its new Group Chief Executive Officer, effective February 24, 2026. Kapur, a seasoned leader with over 36 years of experience across heavy industries, is tasked with spearheading the "Suzlon 2.0" vision.

Reporting directly to Chairman & Managing Director Vinod Tanti, Kapur’s arrival marks a strategic shift for the company. While Suzlon has long been a leader in wind energy, Kapur’s mandate is to transform the group from a pure-play wind entity into a comprehensive renewable energy solutions conglomerate. His expertise in scaling multi-billion-dollar businesses is expected to drive operational excellence and financial stability during this critical expansion phase.

Kapur joins Suzlon following a high-profile stint at the Adani Group. As Managing Director of Ambuja Cements, he was instrumental in creating a blueprint for low-cost production and oversaw a 70% capacity increase through aggressive M&A activities, including the integration of ACC Ltd and Sanghi Industries. His leadership pedigree is further bolstered by his time at Vedanta Resources, where he served as CEO of the Aluminium & Power business.

Educationally grounded with an MBA from KJ Somaiya and an Advanced Management Program from The Wharton School, Kapur’s career began at Citi before he spent over 26 years rising through the ranks at Ambuja Cements.
