September 2026 : Unichem Laboratories Limited has recently appointed Vishal Patil as its Chief Information Officer. Operating from Mumbai, Patil brings over 25 years of extensive experience leading IT-OT convergence, digital manufacturing, cybersecurity, and enterprise transformation across the life sciences sector.

In his new role, Patil will oversee enterprise-wide technology strategies, modernizing IT ecosystems, and scaling intelligent platforms like SAP S/4HANA, MES, LIMS, and AI-driven analytics to accelerate growth, optimize supply chain operations, and enforce global regulatory compliance standards.

Before joining Unichem, Patil spent over eight years at Serum Institute of India. His progressive leadership trajectory includes serving at SUN PHARMA, Dr. Reddy's Laboratories, and at Ranbaxy. Patil built his early career at Novozymes South Asia, Biological E Limited, Jubilant Organosys, and at Wockhardt. Across these organizations, he successfully directed paperless manufacturing, shop floor automation, 21 CFR Part 11 compliance, and large-scale IT infrastructure projects.

Patil holds a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) in Instrumentation from North Maharashtra University. Committed to continuous learning, he earned a Professional Certification in Digital Strategy and Transformation from IIM Kozhikode, completed a Professional Certification in Agentic AI from IIT Madras, and holds the prestigious ISACA CISM (Certified Information Security Manager) credential.
